Who runs the Pricing Compliance Report
- Dealers preparing for an FTC or state advertising inquiry, or wanting to avoid one.
- Dealer groups checking cross-channel price consistency across rooftops.
- Compliance officers who need the evidence trail per VIN, not a summary score.
Before you run it
- What does it flag?
- The same VIN advertised at materially different prices across more than one dealer-site channel at the same time, which is the concurrent discrepancy regulators look for, plus stale or phantom listings sitting on one site 90 days or more. A price that drifts down over time is normal repricing and is deliberately not flagged.
- What is the legal framing?
- FTC Act Section 5 (deceptive advertising) and state advertising and UDAP laws. It does not rely on the FTC CARS Rule, which was vacated by the Fifth Circuit in 2025. MarketCheck supplies the advertised price evidence; you compare it against your own sale records to complete the determination.
- How do I run it on my whole lot?
- Pass your dealer ID or website domain and the report pulls your full live inventory from the syndication feed and audits it up to the limit you set (default 25, up to 1,000). Or paste a specific list of VINs.
- How is it priced?
- $0.20 per vehicle audited with a $4.99 minimum, up to 1,000 vehicles per run. You pay only for vehicles actually audited. An audit that could cost more than the minimum is quoted first, and the quote charges nothing.
- How is it different from the VIN Price Check?
- The VIN Price Check establishes the advertised price of record for one or a few VINs. The compliance report audits a whole inventory for concurrent cross-channel exposure and stale listings.
