NeoVIN full decode

Factory specs, options, packages and sticker for a VIN.

$0.16 per call

What it returns

Raw data for your assistant to read.

The factory build for one VIN from the NeoVIN decoder: year, make, model, trim and version with a confidence note for each, engine, transmission, drivetrain and powertrain, body, doors and seats, dimensions and weight, fuel economy, the exterior and interior colour with their codes, the base MSRP, the installed options and packages with their own MSRPs, delivery charges and the combined sticker, the original MSRP, NHTSA safety ratings, the factory warranty, and the full equipment list grouped into standard and package features (a few hundred lines).

Use it when

  • You are writing or checking a listing and want the build, not the badge: the exact version, the packages, the paint code.
  • You are valuing a car and need the factory options that a headline never mentions, with their MSRP.
  • You need a like-kind replacement spec for a claim: trim, paint, equipment and the original sticker.
  • A shopper wants to know whether a specific VIN has a moonroof, a power liftgate or the driver-assist package.

Not when a report already answers it

  • You want a printable factory sticker for the customer: the Window Sticker report renders one as a PDF.
  • You want the spec read alongside the listing history and the price: the Used Car Health Check.

Pay per call

Charged to your prepaid balance, only when it runs.

$0.16 per call

The Starter rate from the MarketCheck API rate card, debited from the prepaid balance you share with the reports. No subscription: only a successful call is billed, and each answer states what it cost and the balance left.

Real results by desk

The prompt, what the assistant sent, what came back.

Every excerpt is a real result, trimmed to the fields that matter, with its date. Every price in it is an advertised asking price.

Dealer

Write the Trailhunter listing from the build, not the badge

"Decode 3TYLC5LN8ST026438 and tell me exactly what is on it, with the sticker."

What the assistant sends

{
  "vin": "3TYLC5LN8ST026438"
}

What came back (Sep 30, 2026), trimmed

{
  "year": 2025, "make": "Toyota", "model": "Tacoma", "trim": "Trailhunter",
  "version": "Trailhunter Hybrid 4x4 Double Cab", "trim_confidence": "mc_listings|new|dealer|franchise|orig|exact_match", "record_confidence": 98.5,
  "engine": "2.4L I4", "transmission": "Automatic", "drivetrain": "4WD", "powertrain_type": "HEV", "body_type": "Pickup", "body_subtype": "Crew",
  "city_mpg": 22, "highway_mpg": 24, "seating_capacity": 5,

  "high_value_features": { "STANDARD": [ "Heated/Cooled Seats", "360 View Parking Device", "Adaptive Cruise Control", "Premium Wheels", "Apple CarPlay", "Android Auto", "Trailer Assist" ] }
}

What to do with it: A hybrid Trailhunter 4x4 double cab with a $64,820 combined sticker: the listing headline writes itself, and a $49,629 asking reads as 23 percent under the sticker the same dealer advertised new.

Appraiser

The factory package the seller's headline never mentions

"Verify the trim and the factory options on 2T3W1RFV0NW208767 for my worksheet."

What the assistant sends

{
  "vin": "2T3W1RFV0NW208767"
}

What came back (Sep 30, 2026), trimmed

{
  "year": 2022, "make": "Toyota", "model": "RAV4", "trim": "XLE", "version": "XLE FWD",
  "record_confidence": 95,
  "engine": "2.5L I4", "transmission": "Automatic", "drivetrain": "FWD", "city_mpg": 27, "highway_mpg": 35,

  "msrp": 28445, "installed_options_msrp": 1385, "delivery_charges": 1335, "combined_msrp": 31165, "original_msrp": 32654,
  "installed_options_details": [
    { "code": "CP", "name": "Convenience Package", "msrp": "1265", "type": "P" },
    { "code": "E6", "name": "Exhaust Tips, Black Chrome (PIO)", "msrp": "120", "type": "O" }
  ],
  "high_value_features": { "CP": [ "Sun/Moonroof", "Power Closing Liftgate" ] },
  "rating": { "safety": { "front": 4, "side": 5, "overall": 5 }, "rollover": 4, "roof_strength": "Good" }
}

What to do with it: The Convenience Package is a $1,265 factory option (moonroof, power liftgate) that the listing calls an XLE and nothing more; it goes on the worksheet as equipment, with the five-star rating in the file.

Claims

A like-kind replacement spec for a total loss

"I need the replacement spec for 1HGCV1F35LA046672: exact trim, paint, equipment and the original sticker."

What the assistant sends

{
  "vin": "1HGCV1F35LA046672"
}

What came back (Sep 30, 2026), trimmed

{
  "year": 2020, "make": "Honda", "model": "Accord", "trim": "Sport", "version": "1.5T Sport CVT",
  "engine": "1.5L I4", "transmission": "CVT", "drivetrain": "FWD", "city_mpg": 29, "highway_mpg": 35,
  "exterior_color": { "code": "NH-883P", "name": "Platinum White Pearl" }, "interior_color": { "name": "Black Cloth" },
  "msrp": 26980, "delivery_charges": 955, "combined_msrp": 27935, "original_msrp": 27785,
  "rating": { "safety": { "front": 5, "side": 5, "overall": 5 }, "rollover": 5, "roof_strength": "Good" },
  "warranty": { "total": { "duration": 36, "distance": 36000 }, "powertrain": { "duration": 60, "distance": 60000 }, "roadside_assistance": { "duration": 36, "distance": 36000 } },
  "high_value_features": { "STANDARD": [ "Premium Audio", "Adaptive Cruise Control", "Lane Keep Assist", "Apple CarPlay", "Android Auto", "Turbo Boost" ] }
}

What to do with it: A like-kind replacement is a 1.5T Sport in Platinum White Pearl with a $27,935 sticker, not any Accord: the decode pins the trim and the paint the settlement has to match.

Shopper

Does this RAV4 have a moonroof and a power liftgate

"Does VIN 2T3W1RFV0NW208767 have a sunroof and a power liftgate? What driver-assist does it come with?"

What the assistant sends

{
  "vin": "2T3W1RFV0NW208767"
}

What came back (Sep 30, 2026), trimmed

{
  "high_value_features": {
    "CP": [ "Sun/Moonroof", "Power Closing Liftgate", "Power Closing Doors" ],
    "STANDARD": [ "Blind Spot System", "Anti Collision System", "Adaptive Cruise Control", "Lane Keep Assist", "Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance", "Rear Parking Device", "Apple CarPlay", "Android Auto", "Keyless Start/Remote Engine Start" ]
  },
  "features": { "CP": 10, "STANDARD": 200 }
}

What to do with it: Yes to both, from the Convenience Package, with blind-spot, adaptive cruise and lane keeping standard: check the photos for the moonroof and compare this list with the seller's.

Every desk

Which of the four sticker figures to use

"What did 3TYLC5LN8ST026438 sticker at? Give me the original MSRP."

What the assistant sends

{
  "vin": "3TYLC5LN8ST026438"
}

What came back (Sep 30, 2026), trimmed

{
  "year": 2025, "make": "Toyota", "model": "Tacoma", "trim": "Trailhunter",
  "msrp": 63135,
  "installed_options_msrp": 90,
  "delivery_charges": 1595,
  "combined_msrp": 64820,
  "original_msrp": 65514,
  "msrp_label": "original_msrp"
}

What to do with it: Four sticker figures come back; the combined sticker (base plus options plus delivery, $64,820) is the full sticker to quote, and the base $63,135 understates it.

Limits and traps

Read before you lean on a number.

  • One VIN a call, 17 characters. Paste it exactly; the decoder does not guess a partial VIN.
  • The response is large (the equipment list alone is a few hundred rows). Ask the assistant for the fields you need rather than the whole decode in chat.
  • Options with a confidence of High and a verified flag are read from the original listing; the others are inferred from the build and the trim, and the confidence fields say which.
  • The sticker is the manufacturer's suggested retail price at the time, never what anyone paid for the car.
  • US market VINs. UK vehicles are keyed by registration and are not decoded here.
