# Pre-Purchase Negotiation Brief

> What to offer for this listing and the exact script to use.

**Price:** $1.99 per report. Runs inside Claude or ChatGPT (MCP), or as a shareable hosted web report. Pay per report, no subscription.

For a buyer considering a specific used-car listing. Returns 5-band verdict, fair offer + walk-away, leverage points (cheaper comps, price drops, days on lot), and a ready-to-use negotiation script. Use when a buyer has found ONE specific listed vehicle (with an asking price) and wants offer strategy or talking points to negotiate it down. For the value itself use Vehicle Valuation; to vet whether it is a good buy use Used Car Health Check.

## Inputs

### Required
- **vin** (e.g. `2T3F1RFV5SW550775`): 17-character vehicle identification number.
- **listed_price_usd** (e.g. `28600`): Asking price on the listing.
- **zip** (e.g. `60606`): ZIP where the user is shopping (anchors comparable alternatives).

### Recommended
- **vehicle_listed_miles** (e.g. `24500`): Actual mileage shown on the listing. Without this we estimate from year and the comparison is less accurate.
- **vehicle_dealer_name** (e.g. `Camelback Toyota`): Name of the dealer selling it. Lets us mention them by name in the negotiation script.

### Optional
- **condition** (e.g. `Clean`): Visible condition from photos/description: Clean, Average, Rough.
- **target_savings_pct** (e.g. `0.05`): How aggressive to be (decimal, e.g. 0.05 for 5%). Defaults to 0.05.

## Data semantics

Every price is a **listed (asking) price**, not a transacted sale price. "Recently off-market" comps show a vehicle's last list price (a sold proxy). The ML "MarketCheck Price" predicts an optimal listing price, not a sale price.

## How to run

Connect MarketCheck to Claude or ChatGPT at https://ai.marketcheck.com/install, then ask in plain English. Or open the report page and run it.
